Methods I practise

IFS, EMDR, ImTT and an individual combination of approaches. Here you can learn how I choose a method and what we discuss before the work begins.

How I choose an approach

I never know in advance which method I will apply to a particular person. This becomes clear only during the session itself, in the course of our conversation. During the session, I always explain to the client which method I choose and why.

I provide explanations and suggestions, but the final decision is up to the client—whether this approach suits them or not. It’s not about fitting the client to a method, but rather selecting the right method or combination of methods for each unique individual and their specific situation.

IFS — Internal Family Systems

Understanding your inner parts

IFS views inner experience as an interaction between different parts: one may seek change while another tries to protect you from pain or risk. It offers a way to explore inner conflicts and needs with curiosity and compassion. The aim is to understand a part’s role rather than eliminate a “bad” part.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a structured psychotherapy approach for working with distressing memories and related experiences. The process includes preparation, assessing readiness, and attention to feelings, beliefs and body sensations. Reprocessing may involve alternating stimulation, including eye movements. I explain the stages and discuss a suitable pace with you.

ImTT — Image Transformation Therapy

Working with imagery and difficult feelings

Developed by Robert Miller, ImTT uses imagery and breathing-based visualisation when working with difficult feelings and memories. My training includes ImTT and specific protocols, including FSAP and FSIP. In a session, we discuss whether this approach suits your situation and what the work would involve.

Other approaches in my practice

Trauma-related experiences and stress

EMDR, Predictive Flash and ImTT. My professional training also includes specific ImTT protocols, FSAP and FSIP. We discuss the particular approach and sequence of work individually.

What matters during our work

  • Your concerns and goals guide the choice of approach.
  • I explain the method and discuss it with you before we proceed.
  • We consider your readiness and return to preparation when needed.
  • We review how the work fits your needs; you can ask questions or discuss a change of approach.

I work with adults in English and Russian. Fees are agreed individually, depending on your request.
